New website launched
The website for the proposed Streethay Primary Free School in Lichfield, Staffordshire, was launched today, providing details about the new school and a consultation questionnaire for local people to complete. The consultation will run until Friday 12th October.
The new co-educational, all-ability school is due to open in September 2019 for Nursery, Reception and Years 1 and 2, with the aim of growing year-on-year up to Year 6. It will be managed by the Shaw Education Trust (SET), the education arm of The Shaw Trust, a charity which helps disabled and disadvantaged people into employment and independent living. Streethay will be part of the Trust’s family of schools, which are located throughout the North West and West Midlands, and will benefit from that family’s educational experience and expertise.
Part of the new Roman Heights housing development and associated amenities, the school will open in a new building with spacious well-equipped classrooms and IT facilities, as well as outside play spaces, habitat areas and sports facilities.
‘Streethay offers a superb opportunity for your child to benefit from first-class teaching and facilities,’ says Gavin Lawrie Director of Operations at Shaw Education Trust. ‘There will be a strong emphasis on pupils developing good numeracy and literacy skills throughout the school’s varied and stimulating curriculum. Our aim is to provide a safe and caring environment where children are encouraged and enabled to reach their full potential.’
