Meet the team

Jo Morgan, CEO and Accounting Officer, the Shaw Education Trust
Jo previously worked as Ofsted’s Regional Director for the North West and National Director for Initial Teacher Education. She has held three secondary headships: leading one school out of special measures, accelerating performance to 'outstanding' in another, and gaining Teaching School status and delivering an academy; as well as opening a new secondary school. As a National Leader of Education, Jo’s experience will be of immense value to Streethay, where she will provide quality assurance and project management in the pre-opening and post-opening phases, holding team members to account for its successful opening and the establishment of a high-quality learning environment. Jo is also SET’s Accounting Officer and will ensure the new school complies with all statutory and financial regulations.

Sandra Mitchell, Director of Primary Education, the Shaw Education Trust
In addition to her role at SET, Sandra is the Executive Head teacher at Seabridge Primary School, a National Support School in Newcastle-under-Lyme. An experienced primary leader and National Leader of Education, she is regularly commissioned by the local authority to support other schools in challenging circumstances. This has included work on school improvement, curriculum design, and coaching leaders and staff. Having established Seabridge as a new school, Sandra is well placed to support Streethay’s development and will be in overall charge of the school in its pre-opening phase. She and her team will support and mentor the newly recruited head of school and hold them to account for the school’s performance.

Gavin Lawrie, Director of Operations, the Shaw Education Trust
Gavin is an operations manager with 20 years' experience in project management and procurement. He oversees health and safety, human resources and premises management within the Trust’s academies. In the pre-opening phase, Gavin will manage the opening of Streethay, ensuring compliance with all necessary aspects, and will be responsible for project managing the premises when the school opens.
