NASEN is the National Association for Special Educational Needs. It’s a charitable organisation which exists to support and champion those working with, and for, children and young people with special educational needs and learning differences.

For the last fourteen years, Nasen have held national awards to recognise those in the sector who have gone ‘above and beyond’ to support children with SEND and their families. Streethay Primary were blown away to receive a nomination for Primary Provider of the Year. These nominations are anonymous and can even come from parents! Our category had 3 nominees. On Friday, Mr Taylor, Mrs Machin and Miss Cooper attended the ceremony on behalf of the Streethay team at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham on October 4th. Unfortunately, we were not the winners in our category but are beyond proud of our staff and school for being recognised and suggested for the national shortlist! What an accolade! Equally, we got to spend the night with some inspiring people who both work in education and young people who, in the face of challenges have shone!
