This week in Music, Team Badgers have continued their ukulele practice and playing different strings seperately and simultaneously. They practiced this today to the song "Stay with Me". Well done Badgers!

The children have been learning about orchestral instruments. They have been thinking about which orchestral instruments they could hear in different pieces of music. 

Over the half term, Daffodils have enjoyed learning lots of nursery rhymes. We have enjoyed favourites such as Humpty Dumpty, One, two buckle my shoe and five little monkeys.  We have also used playdough to develop our fine motor skills whilst we sing along to our nursery rhymes! Here we are…

Orchard have really enjoyed their music learning this half term where they have explored dynamics, pitch and texture. Along with appraising the work of classical composers, they have worked together in small groups to improvise and then create group compositions. 

Our music lesson this week involved us working as part of a pair to compose a piece of music in a particular style - a funeral march. 

We used standard notation to notate our piece of music and then we performed our piece of music. 

In Team Badgers, the children have started to learn to play a new instrument- the ukulele! This week, we practiced all four strings G,C,E,A one at a time to the song 'My dog has fleas!'. We learned to remember the strings G,C,E,A by saying Good Children Eat Apples!

This week in Music, we have been learning all about 'Musical Theatre' and the difference between 'Character Songs' and 'Action Songs.'
