We had the pleasure of visiting Birmingham Botanical Gardens which links to our geography topic of Climate and Biomes. The children had the opportunity to explore the unique Glasshouses and experience an authentic rainforest adventure! The children experienced the humidity and smells of the Tropical House, we were shown the carnivorous plants in the Subtropical House, we admired the fruits and flowers of the Mediterranean House, and then we had the opportunity to explore the bizarre and fascinating ways that cacti have developed to protect themselves in the harsh environment of the world’s deserts. We then explored the beautiful gardens outside and met some fascinating birds in the aviary.
We had a wonderful day out and the children represented Streethay fantastically.
