Rabbits have enjoyed learning a new adventure story, Lost and Found. They loved creating their own versions of the story by changing the characters. They have also learnt to take ownership of their stories and have 'edited and polished' (using a red pen) the writing that they had produced. Well…

Daffodils are starting to recognise and write their names! We have enjoy using our self registration photos and name cards each morning and are becoming more confident with recognising our names. This week, we have been using whiteboard pens to have a go at tracing our names.

This half term, our focus has been on the story of 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers. Rabbits have been showing off their amazing writing skills. The children have learnt about the importance of capital letters, full stops and finger spaces in their writing. They also became 'Animal Detectives!'…

In English, we have been trying hard to use expanded noun phrases and conjunctions in our writing. This week, we explained why Timothy and Tabitha decided to swap back places. 

This week in Team Starlings we have been writing and performing our amazing soliloquies based on the 'Bold and Brave Women of Shakespeare.' I have been so impressed by the quality of writing and the superb presentation! Well done, Team Starlings!

Our text for this half term in English in 'Julius Caesar', which  links nicely to our history knowledge of the Romans. We began the week by looking at an extract from the play and acting it out as a class. The children took their roles very seriously!

We really enjoyed learning the story and developing our key vocabulary. 

This half term, Team Daffodils have been working incredibly hard with their name writing. We've been practising our pencil grip, learning the initial sounds in our names and started to have a go at writing our first names! Great job Team Daffodils.
