This week, during their Design and Technology lessons, children in Badgers class have been learning about how climate affects fruit and vegetable growth. We have learnt that in the UK, the climate is often too cold for some fruit and vegetables to grow. As part of this, the children made Japanese Fruit Skewers, with some fruits that are able to be grown in the UK and some that are not. The children learnt about how to prepare food in a safe and hygienic way. This included learning how to use safety knives to cut and slice fruit safely. The children were so proud of their finished kebabs and took them home to share with their families.
