Orchard have been learning all about Islam this half term and have focused on stories of the prophets. They have found it really interesting to learn about these and see the links between many Christian stories they already new.

In PSHE this week, we have been understanding influences. It was really interesting hearing the children's favourite celebrities: everyone from Taylor Swift, footballers to Jesus, Paul Hollywood and Stephen Mulhern!

Mr Taylor would like to say a very big well done to the Year 4 team, for a poignant Remembrance Assembly. The children wrote some thought-provoking poems in groups which they shared during the assembly, alongside some lovely art work depicting poppies in Flanders Fields. 

In computing this week, we have been using our amazing coding skills to create some incredible maze games! Team Starlings have worked hard to use boolean variables, 'if-then' statements and loops to successfully create some excellent maze games. 

This week in Science, Team Starlings have been looking at the properties of materials. In this picture, we are testing the hardness of various materials by seeing how easy it is to scratch them. We then used our magnifying glass to see if there were any visible marks on our objects. 

Orchard have been learning all about Islamic Civilisations in History this half term and they have been thinking about the big question 'How did worlds come together in Muslim Corboda'.

Team Badgers have been using their 4 and 8 timestable knowledge this week for division of 2 digit numbers. We have used objects and base 10 to make equal groups to work out simple divisions.

We have been thinking about ways we can look after the environment in RE. Children created posters to share this message with the rest of the school. 

In Dance, we have been taking inspiration from fireworks to create dance moves. The children created moves for a 'Catherine wheel' and a 'sparkler'. 

In Maths, we have been using the 'RUCSAC' method to solve worded problems involving multiplication.
