LO: i enjoy singing and making sounds.

This week the Daisies have been learning their new nursery rhyme of the week 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes'. The Daisies enjoy joining in with the actions and have lovely singing to go along with them.

LO: i enjoy running and jumping (with both feet on the ground).

The Daisies have been enjoying PE this morning, they have been practicing their running and jumping around the beach. The Daisies have been jumping over sandcastles and using the balls to knock down different sized sandcastles.

This week, we have started a new chapter of addition and subtraction in maths. We have been applying our knowledge of column addition from Year 2 to add a three digit number to tens with renaming. The children have practiced using a variety of methods for addition, including place value grids,…

We have been looking at eSafety in computing. This week we discussed how we shouldn't trust everyone online. The children then drew a picture of someone they trust and explained why. 

In science, we have been learning about living things. This week we were looking at things that are 'alive', 'used to be alive' and 'never been alive'. We went on a hunt around the school to see if what we could find. 

We have started looking at column addition in Team Meadow. We are using our knowledge of place value to support our understanding of adding the tens and ones. 

The children enjoyed creating their art work to put on display in our classroom. We took inspiration from our class name and created our own meadows. 

This week in geography, we have continued our journey along the Rhine.

We have ended up in Rotterdam, the mouth of the River Rhine. We have learnt about importing and exporting goods, and were able to identify examples of each.

This week in French, we have been learning how to describe people. 

We can describe their hair and eyes, thinking about the different order in French compared to English. Our next challenge will be to draw our own people and describe the characteristics we have drawn.

The children have been practising gross motor skills by balcing on the trim trail and moving safely with the bikes in our outdoor area.
